Using a Grabba Bar Code Scanner with Pendragon Forms

Grabba manufactures a line of bar code scanners that clip onto Palm handheld devices.  Pendragon Forms SCAN events and text and numeric fields respond to scans with the Grabba hardware.

In order to activate the Grabba compatibility, you need to place an enable command in an OPEN (or ENTERSCREEN) event on your form.  For example, your OPEN script might look like the following:

open:
   enable grabba

Pendragon Forms will close the Grabba port at certain intervals, but it is recommended that you disable the Grabba whenever you can safely do so.  For example, you might close the port in your VALIDATE event when the record closes, e.g.,:

validate:
     disable grabba
